Why ATH has flame retardant


    In composite materials, Aluminum Hydroxide presents itself as a micro powder, offering high whiteness without causing secondary pollution. It serves as a potent agent for smoke elimination, filling, and imparting antistatic properties. Notably, Aluminum Hydroxide boasts an initial decomposition temperature of approximately 205 ºC. When heated, it liberates significant amounts of water vapor, which serves multiple critical functions in flame retardation. This water vapor acts as a heat sink, absorbing and dissipating thermal energy while simultaneously diluting the concentration of combustible gases within the polymer matrix.
    Furthermore, it forms a non-combustible barrier between the ignition source and the surrounding material, effectively halting the spread of flames.
    Additionally, as a smoke suppressant, Aluminum Hydroxide releases only water vapor, which poses no corrosive threat to metals
